Follow our studio policies to ensure your child’s safety; Your children are a Reflection of You ~ Good Manners and Etiquette are always expected at MCDC.
Tuition Policy
I FULLY UNDERSTAND THAT THE OWNERS/ DIRECTORS, STAFF AND FACULTY OF THE MCDC HAS THE RIGHT TO REFUSE LESSONS TO ANY CHILD WHO’S TUITION IS DELINQUENT.
The Miss Cheryl's Dance Company term begins the week after Labor Day and runs through June. Dance runs the full school year and then some! You are enrolling in a 10-month program and may pay several different ways. All tuition is due on the 1st of each month, with a five (5) day grace period. After the 5fth day without any communication a payment of a late fee for $25.00 will be charged .
-We also accept CASHAPP , depending on your tuition you will need to add $1,$2,$3 to your payment., for tax purposes.
-Personal checks are accepted written out to MCDC. If a check is bounced, you will be charged a fee of $40.00. If this happens a second time your checks will no longer be accepted.
-There are no refunds on classes missed; however you are welcome to come in another day & time to take class. There will be make-up classes scheduled to accommodate weather related cancellations and Holidays
- MCDC does not except CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS.
Dress Code
Girls:
Only Tiny-Tots are permitted to wear any color.
Black dance attire is Mandatory! – Any style or material is acceptable, or any MCDC attire. Tights – Ballet Pink, Black, White, Jazzy Tan or Suntan are permitted. Bootie Shorts and crop tops are certainly acceptable for all other genres of dance. Such as; Contemporary, Jazz, Acrobatics, Tap, Hip Hop, Afro Caribbean.- Must be Black
HIP HOP STUDENTS MAY NOT WEAR THEIR STREET SHOES (That means the shoes you wore out on the street and used to walk into the building) ON THE DANCE FLOORS INSIDE THE ACTUAL DANCE STUDIO!!! You will be fined $150.00.
Shoes
• Tiny Tots : (TAN TAP SHOES)/ Leather Ballet Slippers (Pink)
• Lil Divas : (TAN TAP SHOES),/ Leather Ballet Slippers (Pink) and Jazz Shoes flex (Black)
• Prima Divas : (Black) Lace-up tap shoe/ LEATHER Ballet Slippers (Pink) and Jazz Shoes flex (Black)
• Pre-Teens :(Black) Lace-up tap shoe / Leather Ballet Slippers and Jazz shoes flex (Black)
Hip Hop Shoes / Black Combat Boots (CHECK WITH INSTRUCTOR FOR APPROPRIATE SNEAKERS
)
• Adults / Check with Instructor for appropriate shoes
Boys
Black dance pants, sweat pants, or Hip Hop pants. Black T-shirt or muscle shirt, or any MCDC attire.
Hip Hop/Breakdance - Check with Instructor for appropriate shoes - NO STREET SHOES
***Ballet, Tap and Jazz shoes can also be purchased at, Dancewearsolutions.com(tap shoes recommended) , Amazon or On Your Toes Dance Store located in Staten Island***
Attendance
There are no refunds on classes missed; however you are welcome to come in another day & time to take class. There will be make-up classes scheduled to accommodate weather related cancellations and Holidays. Please notify the front desk staff if your child will be absent. We can then let the teacher know. In the event of an extended illness or other unforeseen circumstances, please contact the Miss Cheryl as soon as possible. 917-831-8035
Snow Cancellations
All Cancellations and or Delays will be posted on the “MCDC News Letter” section of our Web-site! Students may make-up lessons missed!
Communication
Please contact the front desk staff whenever the need arises. Most of the time, the front desk staff can help you with problems that may arise. If you have concerns that cannot be addressed in a brief conversation, please set up a phone conference. We can have your child’s teacher call you. We want your experience here at the MCDC to be a positive one. Sorry, but Instructors do NOT have time to talk between classes.
Photo Shoot
You will be notified in January when dance photo shoots will take place and dates will also be posted on MCDC monthly newsletter. Children (and moms too) learn so much during the photo shoot: how the costume is to be worn, how to secure headpieces, how to style hair and apply theatrical make-up. This is like a wardrobe rehearsal for the show. – Your child will love their modeling job!
Dance Recital
We have one spectacular extravaganza per year. Please be a part of our exciting Show! Tiny-Tots will have one ordered costume. All other classes will have a Costume for each dance subject. A Performance Package Payment plan is the way to go for all of our recreation students. One easy payment per month will include your Costume, Headpiece, Tights, Accessories or props, and your group picture fee in the annual program book. The dates when to purchase recital tickets will be posted on "MCDC News Letter". Tickets will be sold as First-Come-First- Served basis. You will receive as many tickets as you need… this will ensure the show expenses are met.
Conventions, Performances, and Other Activities
During the year, many of our students have opportunities to participate in activities such as master classes, dance team competitons, community performances and even trips. We encourage all students to take advantage of these opportunities. Information including costs and entry fees etc, will be provided in advance of each event. All fees must be paid in advance of said event.
